Invite
- Extend the Invitation
- Explain what the investigator is to do and when
- Ask a direct 'Will you' question
- Show respect and do not manipulate
- Confirm the Commitment
- Make sure the investigator knows exactly what to do and when
- Ask the investigators to state that they will fulfill the commitment
- Extend the invitation using two questions
- Rephrase the invitation
Power Invite - Seven Steps
- "Today we’re going to give you an invitation…" (Prepare - help them out of passive mode into active mode)
- "The invitation is to…" (Present the message - be specific so they are sure of what is required)
- "How do you feel about that…" (Find out - an invitation for them to talk)
- Find out and Resolve any concerns (Resolve concerns - once resolved step 3 may need to be repeated to get back into the flow of the invitation)
- "Mr. Smith, from today onwards, will you…" (Invite - ask with faith, wait for reply)
- "Mr. Smith, the Lord is very pleased with your willingness to…" (Confirm the commitment - confirm to them that they have made the right choice) For more important commitments… "Now that you have decided to…how do you feel?" (identify the spirit)
- "We want to do all that we can to help you fulfill your commitment with the Lord. What can we do to help you…" (arrange to follow up)
Follow Up
- Arrange to Follow Up
- Explain that you want to follow up
- Plan a follow up visit
- Encourage the investigator
- Make Regular Contacts
- Ask questions to find out how well they fulfilled the commitment
- Adjust the commitment or give the original commitment again
- Encourage and support the investigator
Resolve Concerns
- Discover the Concern
- Use 'find out' skills
- Discuss the Concern
- Find out if others know how to resolve their concern
- Help others see the results if their decisions
- Tell them that you know they can make the right Decision
- Encourage them to seek the Lord's Help
